"The Intoxicologist Is In" began due to my love of gathering knowledge about the craft of cocktailing. Old style classic cocktail recipes fascinate me. The time bartenders took detailing their drinks and layering the flavors to perfection is testament to an era where times were possibly a bit slower paced. Quality was foremost in the mind of the bartender and a well built mixed drink meant more than throwing a hodge podge of spirits together with a sexy name as a topper.

Times have changed. New spirits are released on the market at a pace that could easily make one's head spin faster than a hangover. Each new spirit is as intriguing as the cocktails of the early days. Each vodka, rum, tequila, gin, whisky and liqueur is uniquely different. They all have something special to add to a cocktail to send it to a new level of originality, make it distinctive and make it memorable. My goal as The Intoxicologist is to sample the various spirits, try out a variety of cocktails and share my findings with readers. Liquor companies and marketers regularly send spirits for my unbiased review.
